Matt Posner is the Principal of CSG. Matt has more than 15 years of experience in public finance and policy. He has testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance on infrastructure finance problems facing the country and spent years educating staff in the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. Treasury Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission on public policy and market implications. Mr. Posner has been quoted on his views and published in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Bloomberg News, The Bond Buyer, the Municipal Finance Journal, and the Government Finance Officers Association’s Government Finance Review, among others. He is Ex-Officio member of the Municipal Bonds for America Coalition.

At Court Street Group, Matt has worked on a variety of projects including working for the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, the Nasdaq Sustainable Bond Network and advising cities and states on a variety of resiliency programs. Prior to Court Street Group, Matt was Head of Capital Markets at Neighborly, a venture-backed start-up aiming to modernize public finances through technological advances. He started his career at at Municipal Market Advisors (MMA), a research and data provider that focuses on public finance. At MMA, Matt forged market and policy coverage for the firm and created its triple-A Municipal Benchmark that is widely used in the industry.

Matt spent most of his childhood abroad in Senegal, The Gambia, Bolivia and Peru. He is a graduate of Georgetown University with degrees in Government and History.
